Glow-in-the-dark Nissan LEAF breaks Guinness World Records

LONDON - Nissan has broken the Guinness World Records title for the Largest Glow-in-the-Dark Painting by using the glow-in-the-dark Nissan LEAF to paint a 207.68m2 self-portrait of the 100-percent electric car. The painting, which depicts the front of a Nissan LEAF, was created by maverick motoring artist Ian Cook of Popbangcolour. Usually seen working with radio-controlled cars, Cook was quick to accept Nissan's challenge to work on this super-sized project, using the full-size Nissan LEAF to spread strategically placed pools of glow-in-the-dark paint across the canvas with its tires to create the image.

NIGHT RIDER: Nissan first to apply glow-in-the-dark body paint

ROLLE, Switzerland – Nissan in Europe has become the first manufacturer to apply glow-in-the-dark car paint to showcase how its market-leading, all-electric LEAF is helping more and more people convert to solar energy at home. The manufacturer worked with inventor, Hamish Scott, creator of STARPATH, which is a spray-applied coating that absorbs UV energy during the day so that it glows for between eight and 10 hours when the sun goes down.
